Whole Cabbage Hot Pot
This is the signature camp dish for “Washira wa ayashii zako-tsuri tai (We are fishy fishing comrade)” lead by Makoto Shiina. Very wild and simple to cook. Perfect food prepared on camp fire but also you can try it at home.
• 2~3 heads of cabbages
• 10~12 slices of bacon per one cabbage
• 1/2 cup of water
(1) Cut cabbages in half.
(2) Squeeze bacon between cabbage leaves—(A).
(3) Put (A) and 1/2 cup of water in a pan.
(4) Put a lid on the pan and simmer it for 20~30 minutes.
NOTE: I asked the amount for each ingredient. The answer was “This is a camp dish. Put ingredients as much as (or as less as) you like.” — Kombu
